Municipality of Abu Dhabi City calls for compliance with EHS Standards at temporary workers accommodations

The civic body holds workshop targeting companies running workers complexes.

The Environment, Health and Safety Division, Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, has recently held a workshop aimed at raising the awareness of the environmental, health & safety standards among owners and operators of workers’ temporary accommodation scattered at various construction sites in Abu Dhabi.

The Workshop was held in commemoration of the International Workers’ Day and in manifestation of the UAE’s policy and commitment to protect workers’ rights and secure appropriate health & living conditions for them in keeping with the humanitarian values from which these sets of laws and legislations are derived with the ultimate aim of nurturing a safe and secure work & living environment for workers.

The Municipality invited the attention of all operators of workers’ temporary accommodations to the importance of complying with all specifications, services and proper environmental & health standards in order to meet the requirements of a decent & healthy living conforming to the directives of the top leadership in terms of satisfying all requirements of safety, comfort, decent & appropriate living in workers accommodation at all construction sites, particularly in workers temporary accommodations.
